Happy birthday, sister!! I've been dying to show this to you!! For those who don't know,
is my sister and the only reason why my nuzlocke is even worth reading. Value those who are sweet enough to tell you when they like your work, but who care about you enough to say, "It makes no sense - do it over." She's super creative, but super shy and I love my older sister so much!! I wish I could be there to celebrate!!
This comic is 100% for her. My only regret is that, since she couldn't edit her own surprise present, it isn't the quality of storytelling that I would like it to be. Mewtwo is her favorite character, and I wanted some of the story to be exclusively dedicated to her (although I can honestly say that part of The Meek Nuzlocke is written because of her encouragement alone. Sometimes I write it too see the look on her face when she reads.)
Some background: In my head, psychic types' bodies consume far greater quantities of sugar due to the strain that they put on their brains. Your brain consumes most of your body's sugar (although it's a constant amount no matter how hard you're thinking), but having extra parts of your brain seems to me like it would make them require even more. Mewtwo, with his vastly more complex brain, is prone to hypoglycemia, a fact which is worsened by his extremely small stomach. Sweets are thus a very efficient way to give him a temporary pick-me-up. Mewtwo has an immense sweet-tooth.
Blaine is a complete bachelor cook. I based Cinnabar Island on Hawaii, and thus they eat a lot of cheap spam and Japanese-American style dishes such as spam musubi, spam macaroni, and spam teriyaki. Mewtwo really likes all three, but thinks teriyaki is the best (again, sweets).
EDIT: I realize that it sounds like I think all Hawaiian dishes contain spam. I don't, don't worry! I meant to imply that it was common, and that Blaine favors it to the point of using it everywhere. He isn't a very original cook.
